20 week ultrasound images

Finally getting to this.  These are a little creepy, but since we did not want to know the sex, the sonographer refrained from taking full-body images.  So we got some head shots.  There are pics of the feet, arms, and spinal column, but I have not gotten around to having those scanned in.  So here are some glamour shots of our little one!

20 weeks, that head doesn't look too big???

Having an ultrasound was something that Janis and I discussed for a long time. None of our parents had ultrasounds with us unless needed and my midwife, does not suggest having them unless it is medically necessary.  Our insurance covers one, so we had our one little peak at Peanut.  I have to admit, it was worth all of the research and agonizing over.  It was so amazing to see the baby squirming around in there.  And wow, did this kid squirm!  The sonographer had a hard time making measurements, the baby was so active.  Based on the measurements that were finally made, Peanut is in the 77th percentile (not such a peanut, 50th is average).  If the measures are based on low elevation averages in the US, then we have a monster high country baby on the way!!!  Thanks to the Putelis genes and maybe some from my mom's side.

Peanut has gotten more and more active over the past few weeks (we are almost 22 weeks now) and is getting into a pretty set playtime schedule.  Up around 6am and down for most of the night by 11pm, not too bad!  S/he is not big enough to wake me up at night with kicking, so I am not sure what kind of night schedule we will be on yet.  I am sure Peanut will let me know pretty soon.
